A visual journey through layers of history, memory, and transformation in the Eternal City.
This book project works with ROME 1968 by Ludovico Quaroni, overlaying the original publication with my own photography captured in Rome in 2024. Through acts of collage and moments of insertion, contemporary images are positioned in complement and contrast within the 1968 book. Everyday urban realities interrupt the myth of permanence in the “Eternal City,” staging a dialogue between past and present. By inserting my photographs into the pre-existing work, the project challenges conventional notions of monumentality and exposes the ever-changing urban landscape. Here, Rome emerges not as a fixed relic of history, but as a shapeshifting city continually rewritten by modern life.
